COLOR CORRECTION PROCESS
We’re going to take a few paragraphs to explain our service provisions and why we approach our clinical color process the way we do. Over the last 4 years, ShootDotEdit has made a stern commitment to dependable quality and accuracy. And, along the way, it became apparent that 'measuring' accurate color using terms that cannot be measured (ie. almost, not enough, too much, too little, just a bit, +/- 5 points, between + 10 and +20, etc., etc.) is a very slippery slope. It causes confusion and is impossible to guarantee continuity. Here are a few examples of the 'immeasurable' comments we are referring to:
• “please 'warm it up a bit”
• "my images have too much contrast"
• "please increase the blacks a little more"
• "my images are too cool"
From a quality control perspective, these kind of requests are literally 'IMPOSSIBLE' to accurately interpret or address. They are 100% subjective requests. And, so, that is why ShootDotEdit implemented our “Profiling” system. It is our good faith commitment to deliver “Color” that we can measure, that we can guarantee. And, based on our research and professional industry feedback, we have designed Personal Color Profile options that are currently meeting the vast majority of the needs from the professional photography community.
And again, for dependability and continuity of quality, we edit for these preferences ONLY, no more and no less. And, as you may know, we do provide for our Phase 2 Artistic Edit service for our clients who want a custom / boutique approach to their color and editing.
We ALSO refer to the Phase 2 Artistic Edit service as our "Boutique" service process.
Artistic Editing (Also known as our Phase 1 and 2 Artistic Edit Service)
ShootDotEdit does cater to a large handful of photographers whom have need of and want ‘Signature’ / ‘Custom Handling’ of their media and imagery. This often plays out in the hand holding of images during the ‘Artistic Edit’ process. A few examples are:
a. Running and micromanaging custom created actions
c. Specific Photoshop needs that are proprietary to each unique job
d. Image prep for albums
e. Facial retouching, Hair removal, etc.,
